Global Consciousness

The average World GCI scores for 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2019 by level of consciousness (for 145 nations) are shown in the following graph and table. The World score is shown in the last column of the table. The scores at each level of consciousness are out of 100. The total GCI score is out of 700.

The average world score increased by 2.6% between 2014 and 2018 when it peaked at 391. It decreased significantly in 2019 to 378, a drop of 3.4%. 

The highest score every year over the past five years has been at Level 2consciousness - a focus on personal safety and peace. The lowest score every year over the past five years has been either at Level 6 - a focus on the environment or Level 7 - a focus on governance and happiness. 

The largest decreases are at Level 5 (-3.39%) - a focus on social cohesion, andLevel 3 (-3.23%) - a focus on education and the business environment. The largest improvements are at Level 1 (2.25%) -  a focus on health and economic performance and Level 7 (1.94%) - a focus on governance and happiness.

2019 Global Consciousness Report

This report, presents an overview of the current state of world consciousness and how it has evolved  between 2014 and 2018. It identifies the most consciousness nations in the world; which nations are  improving in consciousness and which nations are declining in consciousness. It also identifies the most conscious nations at each level of consciousness.

2019 European Union Consciousness Report  

This report, presents an overview of the current state of consciousness in the member nations of the European Union and how consciousness has evolved in these nations between 2014 and 2018. It  identifies the most consciousness nations in the European Union; which nations are improving in consciousness and which nations are declining in consciousness. It also identifies the most conscious nations at each level of consciousness. The report explains why the EU is becoming increasingly difficult to manage.

2019 Nordic Nations Consciousness Report  

This report, presents an overview of the current state of consciousness in the nations of the Nordic region and how consciousness has evolved in these nations between 2014 and 2018. It identifies the most consciousness nations in the Nordic region; which nations are  improving in consciousness and which nations are declining in consciousness. It also identifies the most conscious nations at each level of consciousness. The report also explains why the consciousness of Sweden has been declining over the past few years.
