Richard Barrett is an author, presenter, coach and internationally recognised thought leader on the evolution of human values in business and society. He is the President of the Barrett Academy for the Advancement of Human Values®, the Founder of the Barrett Values Centre®, a Fellow of the World Business Academy and Former Values Coordinator at the World Bank.
Richard's Career Highlights
1995 – 1997: Values Coordinator at the World Bank. Led an organization-wide inquiry into the values, beliefs and behaviours of World Bank staff.
1997: Formed the Barrett Values Centre® to develop values-based metrics to support organizations in their leadership and cultural transformation programs. Created the Cultural Transformation Tools based on the Seven Levels of Consciousness Model – an extension and expansion of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
1998: Published Liberating the Corporate Soul.
2006: Published Building a Values-Driven Organization: A Whole System Approach to Cultural Transformation.
2010: Published The New Leadership Paradigm.
2011: Published Love, Fear and the Destiny of Nations.
2012: Published What My Soul Told Me: A Practical Guide to Soul Activation.
2013: Published The Values-Driven Organization: Unleashing Human Capital for Performance and Profit.
2015: Published The Metrics of Human Consciousness.
Formed the Barrett Academy for the Advancement of Human Values to support deep personal transformation (ego-soul dynamics) and societal transformation (worldview dynamics).
2019: Published The Evolutionary Human: How Darwin Got It Wrong
Humanity Awareness Initiative: Second 4-day meeting in Oxford of 28 people from all over the world.
